Fuel Prices Rocket Up

Think that is is matching their country size, we screwed up by letting the rich run the country, face it. The legislation was pushed thru while most were gone for Christmas many years ago. We don't even get to vote for president, now do we- really. Did Bush win the popular vote? There is enough energy in THIS country to bring the cost back down. If the whole country would strike for a week, let the trash pile up and the red-eye flights sit on the coasts, the lights go out, the cell phones go off , room service not answer, this would look a little different. That is why this country gets speeches on "capitolism" and how great it is. It keeps you small and dreaming and working . [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I hate the price of a gas and wished it would come down, but guess what, if it goes down so does the demand for coal, and you know what that means, less jobs here in our area, so its a 2 edged sword.

I agree with a little bit of that mumbo jumbo you just wrote. I dont think it would even take a week. If everyone just didnt buy gas for 1 day it would hit them in the gut hard.

Problem i see with all of it. Why did no one in our Government see this coming. And why was there no plans put into effect.
Sometimes a little forward thinking helps alot.
You can go to smaller vehicles. But who can at this time to completely change their vehicles, because of record fuel prices, no knew was coming.
All i can say is who is looking out for us. Like i said in other post.
Dem or Rep. or whatever, seems no one is looking out for the workforce. Just fighting their usual political battles.
While we still sit and wonder who if anyone is doing anything.
Any way this goes it can be bad. Sooner or later our automobile factories are gonna take much larger hits. Even if we go to smaller more efficient vehicles. Someone is gonna lose a job.
It's the way our society is.
Question now is. Why are we in this mess and why were we no better prepared.

Maybe if we voice enough concern.
We can have a National Do Not Buy Fuel Day.
And i am being serious. Wouldn't that send a message in a hurry. That if those in charge ain't gonna help. Then those working will try themselves.

I been out of a job before, if it would let the air out of the oil companies, fire it up.

Triple A announces this morning that folks, need to adjust their budgets, for a 18-20% increase in fuel prices, for this summer.
Most likely prices will stay there all summer.
So what probably based on another 18-20% based, on this mornings price of $2.79 gallon, your looking at $3.30 - 3.35 per gallon to come and last all summer.
Also, all the big automobile makers are making plans for more fuel efficient vehicles and hybrids. Due out sometime in the next 6 - 7 yrs.

Up a dime yesterday and rising. Oil is 68.90 a barrel. Up 24 cents yesterday so look for gas to up again within the next few days. $3 a gallon by or before Memorial day will happen.
